Final Essay

Well when I first got here writing was nothing new to me because I have been using writing as a way to express my self on how I feel about certain things. But nothing I ever wrote was shown to anyone. I have to say since I got here a lot has changed.

I learned a lot more about writing and the things you do and don’t do when writing. And also how to use a blog and what makes the blog so fun is that what your writing is able to be seen and looked at as examples. Being in this class also shows you new ways to write and give you new experiences to write about.

Since I have been here the writing assisignment I liked a lot was my violence essay. I liked the way it came out and how much emotion it had. And the fact that it really happen just made me feel that I could share my experience and help people. And I really want to be a writer and in this class and all the writing skills. I really feel I could be a writer.

My life has been filled with many stories and hard times and to me there was violence everywhere I turned at times. To me this class and all the times we have to write is just a way to let all out. Another thing I learned here is how to write my essays and things on the computer because before they were written by hand.

Its like being here lets you voice what you think cause in all my other English or literature classes you just read a book and write about it its so much more here. Since I’ve been in the class I’ve also learned how to read in front of an audience. Because what some people don’t understand is when your reading a book to the class it’s easy. But when you reading something you wrote to a class it’s harder. I over came that feeling.

Another piece we did was the auto biography. I liked that one because I worked hard on it and it came out great. And what was cool about it was I did that before in 8th grade and then here my grade was better now. So that also showed that this class helped me a lot. And this class showed me that constructive criticism was to help me not hurt me because at first would make me mad. It doesn’t anymore.

The blog was another thing that was cool and also new to me. Because I love computers the blog just made it even more educational and more fun to write for me. Because people could look at your work give you compliments and things like that help you mistakes you would have made and always use your work to help them be examples for them. And that was nice

So I would say being in this class helped me grow a lot as a writer but also as a more confident student to do my work to perfection not just write anything down to make sure my work was presentable. I’ve learned a lot and Im still learning.

Comparing Themes

Trifles Theme:

The theme for Trifles is that is not okay to accuse someone based on what you believe or what you hear especially if you accusing someone of something like murder which is very serious.....

Barefoot In The Park Theme:

That being with someone can be hard and you may go through a lot but everything will be okay and that opposites do attract so you don't always have to be with someone that has EVERYTHING in common with you.....

Found Poem

laughter is key.
charm is persuasive.
sweet new string upon a peg.
golden oil.
ancient grudges.
give me the torch.
leader.
be strong.
everything happens for a reason.
what was done?
who's to blame.
explosions.
beautiful birds.....silenced
Is love a tender thing?.....

Stream of Consciousness

Well what am I thinking? A lot. I'm thinking about how fun its going to be to finally get my own job and have my own money and just be able so say “ I bought it “ not my mom. And I think its cool to have your money it teaches you how to save and be responsible. Ive wanted my own job since I was 12 loll but my mom always told me my times was coming. Another thing that was weirdly on my mind was like school. Am I doing good? Am I on the right track? how will college be? And are the plans for how my life going to go how I planned? I planned on graduating high school with really good grades but also while in high school doing things like different clubs and things. Then going on to a college that specializes in forensics and crime. My dream career was to become a CSI or a person that helps kids with issues like abuse and different types a problems dealing with family. I just want whatever job that I choose to benefit the world in a good way.

Literary Treasure

Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field Frozen with snow.

By Langston Hughes

I really like this poem I remember reading this poem to my cousin when i found it and at that time she had just had a baby and was about to stop going to college but this poem and the fact it came from me and the love of her family she said kept her going. I think its very inspirational and up lifting. Langston was right if you give up on your dreams then what is life what will you do with your life. having a dream is something very big and important because there's no telling where you dream could take you or bring to you. being able to dream of something is one thing but to never give up and making your dream come true is way far more greater then giving up and having to look back and say man......i wish i would have done that.

Expository Essay

The book I am reading is called Killer Animals and it’s about people who have had very dangerous and sometimes fatal encounters and conflicts with deadly animals of the wild such as tigers, bears, poisonous snakes, and other deadly animals. These dangerous encounters have happen in zoos and circuses and at camping trips e.t.c. Some of the victims have even gotten diseases from being bitten by certain animals and I am going to tell you about some of those conflicts.

In this book I read about a man who was bitten by a poisonous snake it was a rattlesnake he was injected with venom and at the time he was alone but luckily about thirty minutes later a woman was taking a walk with her dog and she heard his screams for help. She found the man laying there and the snake had slithered away. She called an ambulance and when the ambulance arrived he was taken to the hospital because he had laid there so long that the skin in his hand was messed up really bad and was infected from the dirt that had got in to his cuts. Well they had to amputate his hand. He lived though.

Another encounter was with a woman who was at a zoo with her child her child was mentally challenged and they were looking at the monkeys and this one also came on television but anyway she was walking with her daughter and this lady a zoo keeper was letting the kids watch her with the baby monkey. Well something the little girl did triggered anger in the monkey a face or sound the little girl made but he snatched away from the zoo keeper and ran to the little girl and was biting her face and the little girl tried pulling away but that only made it worse after about five minutes they got the monkey if the girl and she was bleeding a lot but she was okay except for a few cuts and bruises to her face.

Well this book taught me to be careful around animals and watch what movements I make around them. And that also animals dint attack just to attack they do it because they feel threatened in some way and feel they have to protect themselves. Fortunately they girl and guy in the stories I told from the book had very good endings opposed to the endings that could have happen. I think some people that go camping or hiking or to the zoo should be aware that you are in their territory and in their eyes have a right to protect what they think is home so we should
be more respectful, considerate and careful for the sake of our lives and the animals.

Personal Narrative With Song Lyrics

Well every summer we go to Atlanta and we always take the plan because its quicker and its very fun. When we are leaving we always cry a little bit because we have to kiss our mom goodbye. When the plane takes off we always get scared and my little brother cries but he eventually gets over it but seeing him freak out is so funny I don't even think about the plane's lifts off and how scary it can be.

We are always on the plane for about 4 to 5 hours but we are always so energetic and happy then when the plane takes off we are all sleep. Me and my other sister were listening to music and the little one are sleep like always and it gives me and my sister time to rest because they are so active they always want something or want to get up and look around because the plane is a new and interesting thing for them.

So they plane ride was over and we were waiting to exit the plane because unaccompanied minors have to get of last and I was listening to my mp3 player and I started singing this song "It was the summertime. When we fell in love it was the summertime. Heaven shined on us it was the summertime. Baby there is nothing like the summertime. " Well I only payed attention to it because it was summer time and in Atlanta summer was beautiful and hot.

When we got off the plane we met with our grandparents and my aunt and we got our bag then left the airport. It was so nice seeing my family again after so long and that's when we figured out we were my cousins birthday surprise so when we got there they blindfolded her and brought her outside and when she was outside and we were ready the took the blindfold off and we hopped out the car one by one and she was so happy. We had so much fun together.

And later on in our vacation we had a surprise of our own.....My mom came out there and surprised us it was breath taking to see her because we are never apart from her for to long. It was fun and we enjoyed ourselves the rest of the summer with pool parties and family outings and get together.
