Dwarfism
Dwarfism is condition of growth retardation resulting in abnormally short adult stature and caused by a variety of hereditary and metabolic disorders. The word came around in 1865. Traditionally, the term “dwarf” was used to describe individuals with disproportions of body and limb, while “midget” referred to those of reduced stature but normal proportions; today neither word is used, and “little people” has become the preferred term for persons with extreme growth retardation. They also say that at first kids that were born with the defect would not live pass a month or two but with the medicines and technology we have today more and more people with that disease are able to survive.
I first heard the word when I was about 10 or 11 years old. I was watching this sh0w on Discovery Health Channel about this girl named Katherine who was my age but the size of my 3 year old cousin. When I first saw the show they tell you what he word means and everything and I thought it was sad. But then I saw that the girl loved they way she was and then dwarfism wasn't all that bad. And plus I think it would be cool to be her size.

My Thoughts on the Sandy Banks Incident
I think what happen too her was sad and the fact that students sat there and watched what was happening to her and taking pictures, telling people to come watch to me that is just wrong I wouldn’t care if it was a gang or not instead of taking pictures they could have used those cell phones to call the police or something. And the fact that another girl texted her boyfriend saying “do you want to come have sex with a drunk girl” was wrong and after he refused then she called 911.That doesn’t make any sense to me.
If I am at a school that they say so called keeps to them self at that point I wouldn’t have just kept to myself it wouldn’t matter if I knew her or not I would have did something called the police or went and got a teacher. Not just sit there watch and laugh like she was putting on a show for them. Her life was in danger and they were also saying it was her fault she got drunk it doesn’t matter they had no right to do that to her and they had no right to sit laugh and watch for two hours.

ViOLENCE ESSAY
My Life With Violence
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, so I have seen a lot of things that are violent. I grew up on the east side of Los Angeles and I am going to tell you about the worst violent experience that my family and I have been through.
It was August 29Th 2005. I was just coming home from school and it was my sister little sisters Bryana and mikayla. My mom was there and she told us to go start our homework in our rooms. After about 30 minutes, my mom said she was going to the store across the street. I asked can I go with her but she said No stay there. The store was right across the street. My uncle mac, was there for a minute, then he left.
I finished my homework and started to go outside to the front to play with my friend next door. My siblings were in there rooms, and I was standing right out the gate in my next neighbor's yard. We continued to talk and play. About 10 minutes passed by and we saw a car ride pass, because we lived on a main street, we can see all the cars that drive down the street, and the car passed again. Then, at that time I didn't know that my uncle and my friends had gone in the house. The car came again and the man started shouting something upstairs and we just started hearing shooting.
My friend's mom pushed us into the house and told us to stay down. My mom was running from the store back to the house and all we heard was screaming and yelling. I ran outside because all I could think about was that my little brother and two sisters were still in the house. I was terrified, my heart was racing and I heard my mom's voice outside and I ran to her but she told me stay in the house. My cousin was there and he ran to bring my siblings out to me. I was relieved.
I heard the ambulance and still didn't know what happened. Then the police came and took me, my mom and my siblings to the police station. Then she told me that my had been shot in the neck from the upstairs window. I was hurt and I just kept crying, I didn't understand what happened or why?. I remember leaving the door unlocked but I didn't know my uncle was even there.
Then the police officer started asking me and my mom a lot of questions but everything happened so fast, I saw my friend and her family there also, I just continued to cry and try to figure out what happened. Well after a few hours we found out my uncle had died. I was hurt and confused. My mom was terrified, scared, and thankful that all of kids were OK. I couldn't remember what happened so they let us go home.
We found out that my uncle had an argument with someone and the guy had followed him and he was looking out the window and the guy started shooting at him in the windows and hit my uncle in the neck. I loved my uncle he was always there with us, playing, cracking jokes. This showed me how much I love my family and never ever want anything to happen to them. Life is to short for little things like a disagreement.
Violence is something that is everywhere in the world. I wish it was not any, but this is the world that we live in and all we can do is try our best to get along the best way that we can.

Wild Essay!
My Day At The Zoo.
One day me and my family were bored so we decided too go to the zoo and take the kids out somewhere. So we did we got everything ready and picked up all the kids. The next morning we got something to eat and headed to the zoo. It was my grandmother, my aunt and my three little cousins Christian, Christopher the twins and antwon, my cousin and her son amaj and me.
We were driving for about an hour and when we arrived at the L.A Zoo. The twins were very excited because it was their first time. I had to admit I was too. Well we got strollers for the kids and we proceeded on with our trip. We saw all types of animals. My favorite part was of course the reptiles like the crocodiles and snakes and stuff like that. The twins were in love with the monkeys.
We stopped to rest and get water and stuff walking around the zoo was sort of a workout especially trying to chase around four little kids. But I was happy to be with my family and cousins I don’t get too see very often and to be out having fun instead of in the house. So after like 30 minutes we started back walking. This is where the story gets funny.
So after we had seen most of the animals the twins wanted to go to the little petting zoo. So we did and we got there of course at first they were a little scared but eventually they warmed up to the animals and we knew they wouldn’t want too leave. My cousins are very adventurous when it came to new things.
Well while we were in the petting zoo I didn’t realize the sign that said no food. The only food that was allowed was the food they gave you to feed the goats and stuff. So I had a open granola bar in my back pocket and wow that was a big mistake so I guess one of the animals smelled it and started coming to me and I thought they were friendly and wanted to be pet.
A little while after one of them started to sniffing around my back pocket and eventually kind of nibbled on my pocket I got scared and got up and walked away and the fact that they were sort of chasing me scared me so I started running and that made it worse so they zoo people haven’t realized yet and Im still running it was two of them they looked like babies.
When they zoo keepers saw they got them and calm them down although to them it was like a game but to me I was scared out of my mind. Then I realized the food in my pocket and told my family and we all had a big laugh till this day we still joke about that it was kind of hilarious after I found out why they were chasing me.
Well after that we saw the rest of the animals the kids had fell asleep in their strollers and we were tired our selves so we bought souvenirs for us and the kids like t shirts and cup little toys and thing and we headed back home. For me that that made my summer and it was very fun even the thing with the goat its fun to be able to look back on things like that and laugh.

Reading Autobiography
Books Of My Lifetime.
When I was little my family read to me all the time. Especially my Grandmother we read all kinds of books like The Bible Stories and she would read me Little Stuart books, Curious George, Dr.Seuss and my favorite books were Green eggs and ham and My loose tooth I loved the way my grandmother read to me because she made me feel like i was in the story and it was always full of excitement. She was the reason i read so much. Like my inspiration.
When I started reading on my own I was in the 5Th grade and i loved books with action and suspense. You would think a little girl that age and grade would be interested in something different. But I just wasn't I loved books that made you guess and wonder just what was coming next. When i got to middle school I read chapter books and novels like this book called Cirque Du Freak because it was sorta scary but interesting at the same time. Also I read Charlotte's Web and this medieval book named Mister B and many more.
The feeling I got when I read is like a joy because it takes you to your own little world. It feels like no one else is there or allowed your just real axed. And every time I got a new book I was excited because I couldn't wait to read it. It was just fun for me and it took me away when i was mad or sad and sometimes the books i read matched how i felt or had a pattern on what they were about. I used to think it was bad to read as much as i did because of some peoples opions but i realized i liked reading and it didn't matter what any one thought. So I continued.
My present reading habits have been like I would try to read 1 or 2 chapters a day. And sometimes it would get hard to stop but I stopped so that I would have that can't wait feeling when I read the next chapters. My reading teacher would tell me to slow down so that I could understand the book and I wouldn't be just reading and not know what I was reading about. but when the book is good you cant help it. But I took my teachers advice and the books got better and I could actually summarize my book.
I would have to say my grandmother turned me on to reading by the way she read to me. she read to me every night and when ever I asked so she read to me a lot. But my family kept it going with her by buying books and thing for me when ever they got the chance. My mom also helped she used to order the Disney books for us every time we would see them in the catalogs and stuff. Mt family was really helpful. I read so much that soon I could memorize what the book said. But I never got tired of them.
I got my books family members buying them for me when I was younger they came from my grandmother, aunt, cousins, and my mom so yeah I got books from every where. But when I got older Id borrow from my school library and go to book stores like borders and stuff. There was never a time that I couldn't get a book because we never ran out. And I loved it!!
